How to be Rescued

There are different ways you may be rescued, the slideshow below shows how to be rescued from an IRB

Other Rescue techniques

Board Rescue– when a lifeguard on a rescue approaches you to assist you back to shore firstly stay with your floatation device if you have one.  The lifeguard will then ask you to lie down on the rescue board on your front with your head on the nose of the rescue board.  Place your hands and arms on top of the board and the lifeguard will paddle you back to safety.

Tube Rescue – if a lifeguard has chosen to use a rescue tube to assist you back to shore allow the lifeguard to first clip the tube onto you around your waist.  Once secured lie on your back and kick your legs the lifeguard will then tow you back to shore.
